The food was great.would have gave them 5 but we had a to go order also.we quickly found out when we was ready to leave we had to pay twice once in the back then in the front for the to go order .now i saw no sign when we came in about this.so i had to charge my card twice.because the say its 2 different banks.then we had to wait on the 2go wow...

A Great Place to get a GOOD! Meal and a Wonderful Staff.Sly is One Man of Class,You need to meet him you will not forget him or what a good meal you had.

Absolutely loved this place! Read the reviews and decided to go there for breakfast. They had large portions. Great food, service, and atmosphere. The employees were welcoming and accommodating. The greeter at the front door was an entertainer and poet. This is definitely a place you want to visit if you are looking for great food and to see a piece of history. It’s an unexpected gem.

Food is fantastic. Customer service is alive par. Love this place! Not enough parking but totally worth the inconvenience of it. Entry is also small but again worth it. There's a nice man that entertains you while you are waiting to be seated. Be sure to tip him. He's a godly man n extremely sweet. Everyone was wonderful n food is extremely reasonable n very well cooked just as you ask. LOVE GOODY GOODY!

Wait was a little long but the chicken is amazing!

Sat down at 9:40 am. Placed our order at 9:45. At 10:30, our food had still not arrived. When we asked for a manager, we watched a worker touch money and then 15 seconds later, picked up a food plate with her bare hands. She was not wearing gloves. After handling money, she didn't not wash or purell her hands. She put the plate back on the stack of clean -- hopefully because the food on those plates has literally touched money. I'm sorry for the person who gets sick from the health code violations, I am deeply sorry.PS, the manager was completely rude. Also, never got our food. Waited over an hour.

Not a great location and it's small but good food and the service is very nice...

This was my first visit to Goody Goody Diner and I loved it! The staff was super friendly! We were greeted by a rhyming host who just oozed personality! He was truly one-of-a-kind! The bathroom was clean and the experience was one you can only get from place with a history of a kind like Goody Goody Diner. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was not good. The hash seemed to come from a can and was saturated with a lot of grease and very little flavor. However, they replaced the hash with a ham steak that was amazing! I also ordered two over-medium eggs and some grits. I have never tasted egg yolks that were creamy like these ever in my life! They must whisper sweet nothings to their chickens every night and pet them every day to get eggs like this! The back wall was covered in an ever evolving and growing scrapbook that documents the history of the diner. The whole experience was fun and I'll definitely be back!

Hobo Bowl and Rueben platter were very tasty! Sat at the counter to avoid the wait! An old fashioned diner experience! Fast drink service! I love the glass full of ice to keep your drink cold! Coffee was good. This is a classic American diner experience! It goes on our repeat list!

From the greeting to the end: awesome service! The chicken and waffles are so delicious and filling. I couldn't eat it all! Steak omelet melts in your mouth! I can't wait to come back again!

I take every. single. person. who visits me to Goody Goody. It is iconic, delicious, historical; and with Sly and his poetry... an all around memorable experience for locals and travelers. I recommend chicken and waffles (duh) and grits. Be prepared for a little wait if you show up from 9-11am, but I promise - it's worth it. I have yet to show up right at 7am but if you're in a rush - that's the best time! Definitely don't miss this gem.And remember - TIP YOUR WAITERS/RESSES

I love Goody Goody. Just moved back to The Lou and had to go there for some awesome food. I had the catfish breakfast with grits and eggs. The absolute best. Good service, good eats - Goody Goody!

I must say that I was totally impress upon entering the resultant. I was seated as I was greeted and give my coffee with in one minute. And only another minute my order was taken and like a wave of a wand I had my breakfast For one of the oldest restaurant in greater St. Louis area. Still beats any fast food restaurant. I would recommend anyone to try it. You will love it.

Food was delicious and the prices are very competive. The gentleman at the door rhyming was hilarious! The historic atmosphere is a nice touch.

As always, I love this place. I stopped in for breakfast and hangout with some family. As usual the service was great, the food was even better. I missed the greeter that is usually there, but it was on a Sunday and I know he was attending Church. Goody Goody has been around for a long long time and I reccomend that everyone that comes to St Louis give it a try.

How have I lived my whole life in St Louis without visiting this gem! Amazing service and absolutely fabulous food. The catfish was as good as my mom's!

This place one of the best hosts is St. Louis his name is Sly. He greeted my son and I at the door and prior to seating is he gave us a bit of a inspirational boost for our day. The best morning I have had all year long brought me to tears once we were seated. We love their food.

Goody Goody Diner is St. Louis’s BEST DINER! I personally love the chicken and waffles, with an ICY mug of milk!The owner is a wonderful man that greets you and the staff is very nice and ON POINT with great service. I pray they open again, soon!

Absolutely great food, nice atmosphere. Kind of sketchy part of town but this nice dinner pit it all together. We had an amazing meal and plenty to find for vegetarians alike. The food was perfect the first time around. I highly suggest the potato pancakes.... I don't know why since thier just like a hash brown but their great.

Always loved to have breakfast and carry out lunches there before the fire. Can't wait until they are open again for they are truly missed.

Wow! This place has every bit of a cultural staple and diner feel to it. They serve the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. The honey glaze on the fried chicken gives the perfect mix of sweet and spice. Do yourself a favor and give it a try; you won't want anything else. This place is quite busy, but it's well worth the wait!

The chicken tenders was kid meal size but the waitress got the chicken wings for me and they were absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and hot. The 3 stars because the side dishes are not very good and not made from scratch

This is the most amazing place I’ve ever eaten breakfast at from the time you walk in you are greeted by sly who is the most pleasant funny well spoken man I’ve ever met. He greats you with poetry and a warm smile every time. Then you sit down and start looking around st all the photos from a time people were simpler and just wanted a roof over there head and a great place to eat. My server was Basel who was also amazingly friendly. The food was even better if you can imagine I got the Wilbur omelette and it was to die for I highly recommend it. I will definitely come here again

When you get there you are greeted by this man Mr. Rhyme Time. He is the best and brightens your day. My favorite server is Dave he is very attentive to your needs. I have eaten at Goody Goody many a times and today the food was ok ...not bad but not worth the 30 min drive i took to get there. But seeing Mr. Rhyme Time and getting good serve was worth it i guess.

Food fresh. I always get the chicken in waffles but this time I got the glazed chicken, it was so good. No long wait either for it to be a Sunday.

This place was amazing beginning to end. Our host had some awesome lyrics, I couldn't stop smiling! So gracious!! We came to try out the Chicken and Waffles - we were looking for the best in St. Louis and heard of this place. They do NOT disappoint! It was the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. There is no place like this, and a definite must-go!!!
